B. Prabhakar, B.E.
Historian
B.Prabhakar is a B.E. graduate from College of Engineering from Anna University, Guindy and an MBA from Indian Maritime University.
He joined Chennai Port as Assistant Traffic Manager at Container Terminal and was later deputed to Indian Maritime University. He is a United Nations accredited Port Planner & Designer.
He has occupied senior management positions in global shipping companies and now he is running his own business.
He has enormous interest in Tamil Literature, Culture, History and in general Indian history as well.
He has authored a book on “Kumari Kandama and Sumariama”, origin of Tamils. His Novel, “Pukar Nagarathu Peruvanigan”, is a rare treatise on ancient maritime tradition of Tamils.
His book on Port and Shipping Management is a textbook and reference book for MBA students.
He was awarded the Akiyama Award by International Association of Ports and Harbours, Tokyo, Japan.
